Due to limitations of time, only healing treatments and no initial health consultations will be available during the retreat. However, if you have never been a patient of Dr Mao and would like to include a personal healing session as part of your Retreat experience, you need to arrange a comprehensive online initial consultation with Dr Mao prior to the retreat. During your initial consultation, Dr Mao will review your medical history, health challenges, goals and energetic status in order to respond most effectively with a treatment targeting your special needs during the retreat.
For New patients: your online initial health consultation with Dr Mao needs to be scheduled with the Tao of Wellness clinic (TOW), initial intake forms filled out, payment made to TOW & session enacted all prior to the retreat (30 min online consultation, USD 175.- or current rate). Established patients - Acupuncture treatment / herbal prescription at the retreat - CHF 150.- to be paid & scheduled via Chi Rivers
Note: you have been seen by Dr Mao previously at retreats in Europe, online via TOW prior to the retreat or at the TOW Clinic in California.
Schedule and availability for TCM treatments at the 2027 alpine retreat
Dr Mao will give treatments on Thursday afternoon September 23, 2026 before the start of the retreat and on Friday September 24 and Saturday September 25 during our retreat breaks. Availability will be limited. If there is a need, he may also give a few treatments on Sunday September 26, 2-3pm. Established patients will be scheduled in priority during the retreat. New patients will be scheduled in priority on Thursday afternoon (their initial consultation done online prior to retreat - see above). If you need to make travel plans now and would like to receive TCM services, we advise that you to plan on being at Hotel Balance early Thursday afternoon September 23.
Follow-up
To continue on your healing journey after the Retreat, online sessions with Dr Mao to continue & refine herbal support, diet & lifestyle guidance can be arranged through the Tao of Wellness. Long-term College of Tao mentors Peter & Claire Cunneen offer Acupuncture & Qi Healing services locally with AcuCentre and Qigong & meditation instruction with Chi Rivers in Geneva & online.
